Ingredients to Make CHOCOLATE COCONUT PROTEIN BALLS
- ground flax meal
- no-stir nut butter of choice
- unsweetened cocoa powder
- unsweetened chocolate protein powder
- unsweetened shredded coconut
- dark chocolate morsels or cocoa nibs
- coconut oil
- OPTIONAL maple syrup or honey
All these ingredients above are either naturally low in sugar, sugar free, or have a sugar free substitute. Loaded with antioxidants, healthy fats, and of course, protein. You will not need to add the maple syrup if you blend it in a food processor.
The trick to making to making sugar free PROTEIN BALLS
It’s simple! Blend your ingredients in a food processor or blender, adding your coconut oil last as a binder. Just be patient and let the coconut oil smooth out the ingredients in the food processor. If you’re not using a syrup, be sure to let the batter chill in the fridge to set. After that, simply roll it all together with extra shredded coconut and dark chocolate morsels.
Note –> You will not need to add the maple syrup if you blend it in a food processor. That being said, you can most definitely mix everything by hand and add in a sweetener of choice! Whatever floats your boat. 😉

- Freeze right away for 20 minutes (to harden); then store in fridge or freezer to maintain freshness, up to 2 months.
Notes
- For keto option, omit maple syrup and use sugar free chocolate chips and protein.
- For vegan option, use sprouted pea protein.
- If you don’t have a blender you may mix the batter by hand in a bowl, but you will need to add teh maple syrup to bind it. The texture will be a little grittier. Adjust syrup depending on thickness of batter and amount of protein powder used.
